Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect in the first session?
Your first session is about getting to know each other. I'll ask questions to learn more about what's bringing you to therapy, and we'll talk about what you'd like to work on. You're free to share as much or as little as you're comfortable with — there's no pressure to dive deep right away. It's about building trust and helping you feel at ease.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, I currently accept BCBS, BCN, Carelon Behavioral Health, United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, and Priority Health. If you have questions about your coverage, I can help verify your benefits and discuss what your sessions might cost with or without insurance.
Is therapy just for when something is "wrong"?
Not at all. Therapy can absolutely help during hard times, but many of my clients come to feel more balanced, work through relationship challenges, understand themselves better, or simply have a space to check in with their thoughts and emotions. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy.
How do you support teen clients differently from adults?
For teens, therapy is a space where they can express themselves freely and feel understood without judgment. We talk about things that matter to them - friendships, identity, school stress, family, or future plans. I also work with parents (when needed) to support better communication and connection at home. It's all about helping teens feel supported and heard while they figure out who they're becoming.
How often do we meet and how long is each session?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long. Most clients meet weekly, especially in the beginning, to build momentum and consistency.
As therapy progresses, we may adjust the frequency based on your needs and goals.
Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?
Yes, I offer both in-person and virtual sessions - or a mix of the two if that works best for you. My in-person sessions are held at The Healers Lounge in Southfield, Ml - a luxury, peaceful space designed to help you feel calm and grounded from the moment you walk through the doors. Whether you're sipping tea on the couch or joining from the comfort of home, therapy should feel like a breath of fresh air.
